studio lakas is a boutique pilates studio designed to bring calm, strength, and connection into your everyday routine. our cosy, minimal space creates a welcoming environment to move, focus, and reset.

we specialise in small-group reformer and mat classes, allowing for a more personal, hands-on experience. whether you’re new to pilates or looking to build on your practice, our classes are designed to be accessible yet challenging.- helping you develop strength, control, and confidence at your own pace.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • we have a strict 12-hour cancellation policy. if you cancel within this window, your class credit will be forfeited.

    this helps us to keep things fair and gives others the chance to book into the class.

  • please aim to arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled class start time.

    note, if you arrive 5 minutes or more after the scheduled start time, your booking will be automatically cancelled. This is due to the missed warm-up and health and safety considerations.

  • reformer pilates is a type of pilates done on a piece of equipment, called the reformer.

    the reformer uses a system of springs, a moving carriage, and adjustable straps to create resistance and support.

    this allows you to perform a wide variety of exercises that strengthen, lengthen, and tone the entire body.

  • our classes are small group (max. 6 people in reformer and max. 9 people in mat), so you’ll get plenty of personal attention.

  • yes! it’s suitable for all fitness levels. the resistance can be made lighter or heavier, depending on your ability.

  • not at all! our classes are beginner friendly and our instructors will guide you through everything. we’ll adjust exercises to suit your level.

    we also run a dedicated beginners class each week, which we recommend attending if it’s your first time.

  • comfortable workout clothes that allow you to move easily - tight-fitting leggings or shorts work well.

    please bring grip socks for safety and hygiene. these can also be purchased at the studio.

  • just yourself, a water bottle, and grip socks. we provide all the equipment.

    grip socks can be purchased at the studio if required.

  • please ensure your PAR-Q form is accurately filled out and let us know before class.

    our instructors are trained to offer modifications where possible, but please always check with your doctor or physio first.

  • both studios offer free parking.

    at the paisley studio, spaces can be limited in the carpark but there is plenty nearby on-street parking.

    please be mindful of surrounding businesses.
